Grant and Contract Certification Program
This certification program is designed for research and non-research sponsored program administrators and support staff.
It is aimed to provide you with a better understanding of: proposal and contract preparation & review process, research compliance issues, budgeting, cost sharing, indirect cost returns, program income, electronic tools and post-award management and reporting.
The program is comprised of six modules, three in class on Friday, and three on-line through Laulima:
In class:
Module 1: Friday, March 8, 2013 (12:30-3:30 pm)
Module 2: Friday, March 22, 2013 (12:30-3:30 pm)
Module 6: Friday, April 12, 2013 (12:30-3:30 pm)
Online Modules:
Online Modules 3, 4 and 5 will be activated upon registration and can be accessed through Laulima. Online modules can be taken from any computer that has internet access to Laulima.
NOTE: All six modules need to be completed to receive program completion certificate. All online modules need to be completed by Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
Course materials will be supplied. Beverage service will be available at UH Manoa only. Please feel free to bring in your own snacks.
The participant must attend all of the modules in order to receive the certification at the end of the program.
The in class sessions are held at Manoa Kuykendall 201 and will be "broadcast" to the following locations:

- UHMC Molokai Education Center - Room 103 (8 seats available)
- UH Hilo – Media Services, Room 359 – (20 seats available)
- UH Center at West Hawaii – Building 4 Room 3 (12 seats available)
NOT available for this training: Honolulu CC, Kapiolani CC, LCC Waianae/Nanakuli Education Center, and Maui Research and Technology Center (MRTC).
